Hi all!
I’m prediabetic, have PCOS, and also struggle with metabolic syndrome. I started Victoza on October 3rd, but unfortunately, I’ve gained about five pounds since then.
We’re currently trying to switch me to Saxenda, but I’m beginning to wonder if liraglutide is just not the right fit for me.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m feeling incredibly discouraged. Since starting Victoza, nothing seems to have changed—I haven’t felt any different, I’m still eating the same, and I still have the same cravings. I don’t think I’ve experienced any side effects, either.
Maybe I’m injecting incorrectly? I do it in my stomach.
For reference, I don’t believe I overeat in general. It just feels impossible to lose weight with all these issues, and so far, hardly anything has worked for me.
My insurance has denied coverage for other GLP-1 medications, which adds to my frustration. I’m feeling really down about this. If anyone has any advice or words of encouragement, or even if you’ve had a similar experience with this medication not working for you, it would really help to hear it. I see so many people losing weight on it, and the fact that I can’t is really disheartening.
Thanks for taking the time to read!
