I feel like I heard about both equally a few months ago, but now I hear and see Wegovy so much more online. Is there a reason people are using Wegovy more? Maybe I’m just surrounded by more Wegovy advertising? Does anyone else feel like they’re seeing a lot more about Wegovy recently?

Hi everyone! I’m on Wegovy for weight management and help lowering my cholesterol and reduction of food noise. I’ve been on it for about 3 months and although I’ve had success I feel like I still have food noise lingering. How do I know the difference between food noise and “normal” cravings. At night it’s the worst for me but I’m trying to give myself grace because cravings happen. At what point did it click for people and how long on a GLP-1 did it take?

I just saw that the FDA approved a new 7.2 milligram dose of Wegovy developed by Novo Nordisk. It looks like it has high weight loss success but curious what people think of this!

I know this question depends a lot on goals and personal experiences but would love to hear about when people knew it was time to go up to the next dose. For context I'm taking Wegovy for weight management and I stayed at the first dose for 1 month and I've been at the second level for 3 months. I'm still dropping weight but very slowly. How did you know it was time to go up again?

I know that GLP-1s can affect people WANTING to drink alcohol - I don't have that problem. Kinda wish I did, but anyways, my issue is that ANYTIME I drink, I vomit. I microdose for longevity and inflammation so it's not even like I'm even on a high dose. It could be one beer or a few cocktails, my body is basically rejecting any and all alcohol! Is there a way to prevent this?? Or a strategy to be able to socially drink without getting viciously sick?

Hi everyone! Writing as more of a Wegovy injection site update and to share my thoughts about my experience. At first, I was so nervous to inject in my abdomen because it grossed me out more than injecting in my thigh or arm for some reason. I finally faced my fears and it turns out I didn't feel the injection AT ALL. It's my new favorite injection site now. I know everyone is different but maybe this can help someone if they feel the same.

I don't know if altitude affects heartburn but HOLY MOLY I just went skiing for the first time since starting a GLP-1 and my heartburn was off the charts! I'm on a fairly low dose and I had experienced some heartburn when I first started but this was next level. Looking for the best remedies in case the crazy heartburn strikes again! Spill :)

I'm taking Wegovy for weight loss and I've been on a pretty slow and stead weight loss period for the last 4 months, but for the last few weeks I feel like I've hit a plateau and I'm getting very discouraged. I know this is a classic sign of dehydration but I swear I drink SO much water. Maybe it's a strange side effect? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've been on Wegovy for almost a year with great results BUT I am finally getting so frustrated with the dry mouth I'm considering quitting the meds all together. I got a humidifier in my bedroom to help but I can't win. If I drink too much before bed to make sure that I am super hydrated then I'm up all night peeing and if I don't drink enough the dry mouth keeps me up. Praying someone has advice that works!

I've been very strategic about what I eat on shot day and when I take my dose and I think I found something that works. I take the dose after my last meal of the day but I try to eat dinner early to give myself time to digest before taking the dose. I also make sure my last meal is something easy to digest like rice and lean protein. Taking the dose at night has helped me avoid bad side effects. This is what works for me but everyone is different and I am not a medical professional. I wanted to share in case anyone can relate or benefit from this!

I just started my Wegovy journey (yay!!!) and took my first ever injection. Literal hours after the dose I became super nauseous and threw up 5 times all throughout the night. Since that night, it has been 4 days now and I have felt fine even after eating normal meals. I wonder if it was just my body reacting to the initial dose but now I'm worried that this will happen after every dose. Has this happened to anyone else??

Curious to know in the community if anyone here has been on Wegovy and done mountaineering or high-altitude hiking above 4.000m. Any side affects?

I love being on Wegovy - like many people say, it was a game-changer for me and my addiction to food. But now hearing about the Nader sister talking about her addiction to the GLP-1 medications, I'm starting to become anxious that maybe I just swapped one addiction for another. Hi everyone! I'm trying to decide on which GLP-1 to go with. I know Wegovy is a "single-agonist" drug, while Zepbound is a "dual-agonist" drug but I'm wondering if anyone has had any personal experiences with both and could share how you felt on both? Thank you!

I got my Dad to get prescribed Ozempic (originally). He's a bigger guy, diabetes runs in his family and he has terrible sleep apnea. He's switched between a few of the brands, finally ending up on Wegovy, and maintaining a 10 lb weight loss. 18 months ago he had hip replacement surgery and he was taking longer to recover than expected. Once he went on GLP-1 medication, his hip became totally better!!! When I just saw him last he was limping again!!! Later that day he mentioned he stopped taking the Wegovy because he lost his prescription and I'm 100% convinced that the GLP-1 was keeping the inflammation at bay! Thought I'd share in case anyone has had similar experience.

Has anyone else experienced elevated heart rate and restlessness at night on Wegovy? Especially after shot day and the days that follow, my heart rate seems to be elevated making it hard to fall asleep. I've heard taking melatonin can help with falling asleep faster, but it kind of seems like it's just masking the problem with another supplement. Any advice?

The biggest side effect for me since starting Wegovy is the difference in my BMs (sorry!) I've been using Metamucil and Smooth Move Tea somewhat religiously to move things along but I think I need something a bit -- stronger. And suggestions for how to deal with this crap? (That's a joke haha)

Full disclosure: I've been living on Reddit and just found sPiLLRx and I've been on the Facebook groups and I'm thinking - yes, my food noise is gone - but now I feel like talking about Wegovy and side effects and titrating up has become my entire personality. Like I LOVE looking through all the different GLP-1 feeds and giving my advice or what has worked for me. I know they say addicts switch one addiction for another and I had def had addictive tendencies surrounding food and binge eating but am I addicted to Wegovy now instead?

Apparently these medications are not supposed to cause difficult sleeping but I recently started injecting at night to stave off the side effects (when I inject in the morning I have such terrible nausea so I'd rather sleep it off) but now I'm WIDE AWAKE on shot day. Anyone else experience this?

Has anyone else noticed feeling calmer on Wegovy? Since starting, I’ve been feeling way calmer, almost sleepy in a good way, and I’ve been sleeping so much better. I actually looked it up to see if it was just me, but turns out there’s research showing GLP-1 meds like Wegovy might help with things like lowering anxiety and depression, supporting brain health, and even reducing cravings.

Kind of wild that a weight loss med could have these unexpected mental health benefits too. Curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Tried for two weeks on the lowest dose. I’m 5’3” and 195 lbs. In these two weeks I couldn’t stop throwing up, even my water tasted weird, I got crazy constipated and even with 4 workouts per week I’ve lost a whopping zero pounds. What am I missing here?! Or am I just one of the unlucky ones?

BIG NEWS yesterday about the efficacy of the "Wegovy Pill." The CNBC article detailed how late-stage trial results for Novo's once-daily obesity pill showed “significant” weight reduction and tolerability in line with its blockbuster Wegovy injection. Since there are currently no-FDA approved oral GLP-1 medications on the market, how hopeful are we that the injectable nature of these medications may be a thing of the past?!!??!

I’ve been taking Pepto and GasX but it doesn’t do much to help. Wondering if anyone knows WHY this is happening - I can't pinpoint it to any specific food that I eat regulardly. Curious what others are doing to make the burps go away or at least more tolerable? Or maybe has anyone noticed a specific trigger? First time poster! I started Wegovy in March of this year and far I’ve lost 26 pounds. Between breastfeeding when I was younger, gaining weight, and now losing weight… my boobs need a little help!! I took my first shot last night, had a protein drink and went straight to bed! Today I feel normal, maybe just a little anxiety waiting to feel. I suffer from terrible vertigo and am SO scared of the dizziness/nausea side affect that most people talk about. I desperately want to lose weight but are the side effects really that bad and consistent? 

Aetna no longer covers Zepbound effective 7/1/2025. I really didn’t mind the zepbound at all. I never felt sick and I had no other side effects. In six months I lost 40 pounds which I was really happy with however due to the change with my insurance, they moved me to Wegovy.

Today was my first shot and I’m just wondering what others experience is if they’ve made a change or if they didn’t make a change just if they’ve been on Wegovy for a while and they’ve seen a great weight loss

Just got back from summer vacation and I literally threw up everyday. I'm 38, 5'3' (and mom of 2). I definitely lost the 15/20 lbs and felt great on the beach but my husband was almost furious with me because I could barely enjoy a meal just for the sake of looking good. Ive been on it for about 6 months and I'm up to 2mg but I can’t take it anymore. I’m so tired, dizzy, gassy, lethargic, like I can barely function. This is my last day of 4 weeks of .25mg. I’ll give my routine and experiences. I def usually get a mild headache the day after the shot but otherwise --- losing weight, lower A1C, sleeping great, no longer obsessed with food, I could keep going! I haven't increased dosage yet but I'll report back!

I live in Arizona and I’ve been on Wegovy for 6 months. When I tell you I am always freezing cold, despite it being extremely hot outside, it’s totally crazy. Nothing else has changed except for me going on Wegovy! Is anyone else cold all the time?!

I know that I personally have always been obsessed with food but I'm just learning this concept of "food noise" and wondering what that means to everyone. For example, I was hungry at breakfast but struggling with what to eat or whether I should skip the meal to not eat poorly. Is that "food noise?" I didn't want to believe that Wegovy was a forever thing. I was on for a year and lost 30 pounds and was really excited to return to life without Wegovy! I figured - I got this!!!!! So it's been three weeks and I don't have this at all. I'm eating the same amounts as when I was on Wegovy and I'm not even a little bit satisfied. Has anyone else had to go back on their GLP-1 because they can't control their natural appetite? I'm feeling disheartened that I actually might NEED the medication to keep the weight off.

I love my slimmer figure and the Wegovy makes me not want to eat (which has always been a problem of mine) but honestly, it makes me not want to do ANYTHING. Over the past two years, I’ve had mental health challenges and frequent medication adjustments that caused very significant weight gain—My usual 110–125 lbs (I’m 5’1) became 187 lbs. I struggled with intense hunger, binge eating, and impulsivity. From the advice of my doctor and psychiatrist, I started Wegovy which helped me rework my diet and reduce impulsivity with minimal side effects due to its gradual dosage increase. Later, I switched to compounded semaglutide to save costs. Over 1.5 years, I lost 60 lbs, improved my mental health, and began exercising again after plateauing at 6 months.

I stopped semaglutide due to nausea, headaches, and difficulty eating enough, but about a month later, my hunger cravings have returned. Now, 5 months off semaglutide completely, I’ve regained some weight, which I’ve accepted as normal. Still, I’m curious—does anyone have tips for managing weight after stopping semaglutide? Update: I’ve been off Wegovy for two months now, and I’ve gained 10 lbs while eating like it’s my job. I feel totally out of control. Initially, I stopped because I experienced a mental benefit, which made the decision feel like a no-brainer. However, I’m now distressed because of my compulsive eating and the weight gain. My stomach hurts every day from overeating. Each day, I tell myself I won’t binge and will use willpower, but I keep failing. Today, I took a shot :( I’m not looking forward to the nausea and headaches, and the eventual apathy that comes with it, but I really need to regain control over my binging. My therapist will worry because I stopped for a reason—to find joy in my life. I hope it doesn’t affect me the same way this time. I really hate how I feel right now.

Original post: Hey everyone, I’ve shared before that I began Wegovy at a 0.25 mg dose and never increased. I lost 20 pounds over the course of a year. I was not obese, and I paid out of pocket—$1,000 a month—for it. However, it took away all the joy from my life. Whatever aspect of it messes with the reward center in the brain completely destroyed my ambition and ability to feel happiness.

A week ago, it was time for my shot, and I decided not to take it. Already, in just one week, I feel like a completely different person. Yes, I’m concerned about gaining weight, but during this first week, I haven’t felt more hunger; the mental health benefit is mind-blowing. I had my weekly one-on-one with my boss, and even though I have a chest cold right now and wasn’t wearing any makeup, he mentioned that I seemed different. I reminded him of the person he interviewed a month before I started Wegovy. I’ll keep you updated!

I talked to my doctor today about my concerns regarding reaching my goal weight and the fear of gaining it all back once I'm off Wegovy. I started my journey a year ago today, not knowing what to expect but feeling so excited and ready for the change. Today, I’m down 91 lbs and feeling happier and healthier than I have in decades. This New Year's resolution was the first one in 20 years that wasn't focused on losing weight, which is just mind-blowing to me. Anyone with PCOS/IR knows how challenging it can be to shed pounds, and Wegovy has truly been a miracle for me. I hope my journey inspires anyone who needs it.

I began on January 12, 2023, at exactly 236 lbs, and I’m now at 145.1 lbs as of today, January 12, 2024. I had set 145 lbs as my goal weight, and it’s fantastic to have hit that today!

I’m currently on a 2.4 mg dose, taken every two weeks. I started the spaced-out shots in November when my BMI hit the normal range.

As a side note, I did have to have my gallbladder removed in October, and I also lost some curves in the process, but honestly, it was worth it! :p

I started Wegovy in April 2023 at around 176 lbs and took my last shot on December 1, 2023.

My weight on Wegovy was 125 lbs, but my current weight is 133 lbs.

Weight Gain—Let’s address the elephant in the room: the weight gain! I’ve gained 8 lbs since stopping Wegovy. My goal was to stay under 130 lbs for a year, but that didn’t happen!

So, why did this happen? First, Wegovy really helped suppress my appetite, allowing me to eat the right portions without craving unhealthy foods. It eliminated a lot of the food noise, and I felt great at 125 lbs, but was it sustainable? Probably not.

I wasn’t working out while on Wegovy; I lost weight solely through diet. Until my recent surgery, I was walking 5 miles a day and using light weights because I wanted to be strong, not just skinny.

I maintained a perfect calorie deficit on Wegovy. If I had a large dinner, I would just have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch the next day. But off Wegovy, that approach isn’t sustainable for me!

I’ve had my struggles—lost control, started over numerous times. I’m a very scheduled, controlled person, and I never truly understood what addiction was until I realized my addiction was to food! I’ve had a week of poor eating, overeating, and binging. Every day, I have to consciously choose healthier options.

Conclusion: Three years ago, I was nearly 190 lbs, with an all-time high of 197 lbs. While I’m not thrilled about my 8 lb gain, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. I’ve also realized that my expectations were unrealistic, and adjusting them isn’t a failure; it’s about finding what’s realistic for my life.

When I was on Wegovy, my biggest fear was gaining all the weight back. I longed to hear success stories, and I hope my experience encourages you and helps you on your journey. 🫶🏻

I’ve been on a 0.5 mg dose for about eight weeks now. I really hate the constant nausea, and it’s frustrating that I can’t enjoy my food anymore. It’s disheartening to prepare an entire dinner only to feel so repulsed by it that it ends up in the garbage.
